Carbon Dioxide Emission Data

Our World in Data — Greenhouse Gas Emissions per Kilogram of Food Product Environmental Data

Our data came from Our World in Data. Greenhouse gas emissions are measured in kilograms of CO₂-equivalents — non-CO₂ gases are weighted by the amount of warming they cause over a 100-year timescale. One key finding: animal products tend to carry significantly more CO₂ than plant-based products.
